In our search for a good nanny or baby sitter, we found over time that one of the best resources you can look to is the community of parents that form your circle. Communities can be your family, friends, or neighbors. They can also be groups of people who gather online to research and share information, have a common interest, or are looking to offer help to others. With the rise of social networks (FaceBook, MySpace) that appeal to people connect with their friends and making new ones online, their is also a movement of services that provide similar networks for people with the same interests or needs. One that we have found for mothers and working moms is Cafe Mom. It is a community designed to help moms connect with others having common interests or facing similar challenges. The communities are even organized into smaller groups for more special interests, such as single moms, mothers of twins, breastfeeding moms, student moms, working moms, etc.
